Bizen Yaki Tokkuri Sake Bottle Goma Yohen Anagama Wood Fired Japanese Stoneware Wabi Sabi Signed Vintage Ceramic Art Collector
A commanding Bizen tokkuri — the traditional Japanese sake bottle form — bearing one of the most complex and beautiful firing surfaces in our collection. The body moves through an entire landscape of fire effects: dense goma ash deposits glowing gold-amber at the shoulder, deep ebi-iro (lobster-red) across the widest body, graphite-grey yohen where the kiln atmosphere shifted, and raw tsuchi-aji texture on the reverse where the fire barely touched. No glaze was applied. Every color, every texture, every transition is the kiln's own work. Artist-signed. Anagama wood-fired, Bizen, Japan.
