A spare, meditative Bizen tsuru-kubi — "crane-neck" — vase in deep kuro-Bizen dark iron, the long straight neck rising from a compact spherical body with the composed authority of a single brushstroke. The surface moves through a full spectrum of reduction effects: near-black sangiri graphite, warm bronze goma flecks scattered across the body, and on the reverse, a rare ebi-murasaki — violet-red — where the clay caught fire at its most extreme.
